    HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and HITECH (Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act) are regulations for organziations that work with PHI (Proteched Health Information). These regulations are desgined to protect PHI for any sized organziation such as dental offices, hospitals, and doctors offices.

    There is no offical HIPAA/HITECH certification, but Dropbox will sign a BAA (Business Associate Agreement) and upon request will provide internal practices and recommendations that meet the requirements for security and privacy rules.
